@RyckardPT It’s amusing, I have never heard the media, the FIA or anyone official call the drivers pilots. It’s all the F1 people on here, it’s a useless term.

@specdecible i believe it’s really a handle, like the way the gears are operated,
most formula cars have a clutch pedal, but its never used unless its at the start or the pits.

What a fantastic machine,excellent job from Hammond-watching this from my sofa he looks a bit slow and clumsy but i dont reckon i would be better,even that 2litre F.renault looks tough.

I reckon you’re forgetting that Top Gear is owned by BBC, and BBC themselves are quite rich. But then again… Potentially paying millions of dollars just because of a silly Mr. Hammond would certainly piss off the people who had to pay for it
I saw this tv show, I do not particularly like the f1 but this is too mutch… it’s a life time experience! this has nothing to do with cars has more to do with huge guns, we are the bullet! is outside of human understanding,

they had more HP but theyre really slower than the cars of today, due to superior gearing and aerodynamics

He said it was 1500 hp/ton. The cars weigh significantly less than one ton, so the hp is significantly less than 1500.
F1 car’s had 1500hp in the 80’s? holy balls those must’ve done like 260 or 270mph

Shumarcher 68 poles, but he had to race 100 more GP races to get that. And he won 7 world titles with Senna dead. And no competitive driver to go against him….
until Alonso showed up and beat him 2x in a row.
